MVA’s Pittsburgh Chapter events and programming are focused on building our community, combatting food insecurity, and bringing our members in to a space where it is safe to be your authentic self. This chapter believes in connecting with members in unique ways and meeting them where they are.
Nathan Porter has served under and deployed in support of almost every global military operation since 2010 including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, and Operation Inherent Resolve.
Taking what he learned from his journey of joining under the shadow and subsequent repeal of DADT, Nathan has become a mental health and social justice advocate who strives to create justice and equity for all.
When he’s not working, you might find him hanging out at home with his ever growing family of dogs and goats, or welding a strange metal sculpture in his back yard.
